Inshore Fishing Charters
Have you ever seen or caught a shark? Do you want to experience of catching the biggest creature we can catch inshore? Are you staying where you cannot cook and enjoy fresh fish? Sharks are for you! Sharks frequent our waters during the warm months to spawn and feed. Unlike most of the fish we target, sharks prefer deeper water, and eat during the middle of the day even when it is hot and other fish are not as hungry. Sharks can be found inside the inlet and most places in the ocean! Most sharks average 3-5’ but we catch plenty of larger ones in the 6-7’ range. During our trip we often see eagles and sometimes even dolphins! We also catch giant red and black drum as bycatch as well as HUGE sting rays. If you want to experience the ultimate inshore rush, a shark trip is a must!
New this year is the 23′ Migration, with her size Captain Smiley’s will finally be taking groups of up to 6 anglers! The Migration fishes well both offshore and inshore and will be the perfect boat not just for fishing in the creeks and along the intracoastal for redfish, trout, and flounder; but she will also fit the bill for trolling along the beach and the nearshore reefs for spanish mackerel, king mackerel, barracuda, and cobia as well as making the perfect platform for shark fishing. Our shark fishing is even good inside the inlet, so even when it is windy offshore we are still able to fish comfortably for sharks. Shark fishing and trolling are two fun styles of fishing that are great in the summer as the baitfish move inshore bringing the larger predatory fish and sharks closer to shore than they are at other times of the year. If you are in town on vacation and looking for a fun way to spend time outdoors as a family, or you are the seasoned angler looking for the ultimate fight on light tackle then these trips are most surely for you.
All the equipment needed for your trip is provided: boat, guide, tackle, bait and license. You will need to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, lunch or dinner, drinks and a jacket or rain gear. For the best fishing dates, please make reservations well in advance.
Full and Half day charter rates are for one to three anglers. A fourth angler can be added for an additional fee.
